Follow the journey of a 71 year old man cycling 3500km to raise money for a dispensary in rural Kenya.

In 3 weeks Rudi Boeting wants to make a journey that is remembered by himself, his family and all the people in Aligula (Kenya) by the construction of a permanent structure that can act as a dispensary for the local community.

Rudi Boeting bikes from Nantes, at the Atlantic Ocean (France) to Contanca (Romania) which is situated at the Black Sea. So literally from A to B, on his own; only A and B are 3.500km apart. He gives himself 3 weeks for this.

In the past he drove from Hulst (Netherlands) to Santiago de Compostella (Spain) and back. He did Rome and back, Prague and back and last year he did the route of the first Tour de France in 1903. Why, he loves the bike. It gives him a sense of freedom and keeps him healthy. Rewards that kept him going.

But now he finally would like to get paid for his efforts on the European roads. He wants to turn pro. So far Belkin, Giant-Shimano, Sky, Omega-Pharma Quickstep have failed in signing up this raw talent. So this is your chance to associate yourself with the #71yprocyclist.

All earnings will be donated to Foundation Health to Empower which currently is involved in setting up a dispensary in Aligula (Soy, Kenya). Their target is to raise €25.000. Read more about it on:
